Apple Ibook start up programs, how to stop them?
I am using an Apple ibook; it is the first time that I use a mac computer, as I've always used windows, and therefore I don't know how to do a lot of things with it. One of the thins I want to fix is an HP programs that runs every time I turn the ibook on. It is some kind of printer set up program (I am not even using a printer) and every time I have to quit it. How can I uninstall this program, or otherwise stop it from running automatically?
Under the Apple menu (the little grey icon in the top left of your screen), go to System Preferences.
Click on the 'Accounts' icon.
If the lock icon in the bottom left appears locked, click on it and put in your account password.
Next, on the left side, select your account (if there are multiple accounts)
In the main area of the window, click the 'Login Items' button.
This will show a list of applications designated to startup when your computer does. To remove anything, select it and hit the delete on your keyboard.
Now that only stops the application from starting up automatically. To delete it, you'll need to look in your Applications folder. Just drag it to the trash and empty the trash.
